Summary

Forrest Hanson welcomes Dr. Benjamin Hardy to explore how we can create massive change by applying "10x thinking.” This mindset involves embracing a radically different version of ourselves and our lives, and they share how we can apply it to our daily lives, learn to act from our future selves, and move past defensiveness and fear. You’ll learn how our past and future selves are with us in the present, how fixating on authenticity can hinder our growth, and how to break free from old patterns and create a more fulfilling life. About our Guest: Dr. Benjamin Hardy is an organizational psychologist and author of 8 books, including Personality Isn’t Permanent, Willpower Doesn’t Work, and his newest book 10x is Easier Than 2x: How World-Class Entrepreneurs Achieve More by Doing Less. Most of us have something that we want to change in our lives, but there's a big difference

0:21.1

between making small incremental changes, which can of course be great, and really swinging

0:27.6

for the fences and embracing a big radical change.

0:31.8

Those big changes can feel really destabilizing, they can feel uncomfortable, but they are

0:36.8

often the things that really move the ball of our lives forward.

0:41.1

And that's the focus of today's conversation with Dr. Benjamin Hardy.

0:44.8

Ben is an organizational psychologist and the author of eight books, including personality

0:49.1

isn't permanent, willpower doesn't work, and his new book, 10X, is easier than 2X.

As a PhD student, Ben was the number one blogger on medium.com, and his posts were read

a radically different future from the present that we're living in right now.

1:19.1

Because we all have things, or at least I certainly have things, that I look back 10 years

1:23.2

into the past, and I go, wow, I really wish that I could go back to that moment in time,

1:28.0

and act from it incredibly differently, with the knowledge, with the skill that I have

1:32.6

these days.

1:34.0

And that's an opportunity that is truly available to us in this present moment, which is a really

1:39.0

cool thing to think about and to talk about, and we explored so much during this conversation.
