So how do you create direction in your relationship, right? How do you actually implement leadership?

0:07.8

Because direction is leadership in action, right? It's leadership in motion.

0:12.5

This is probably one of the most important things in a relationship. I don't think most of us are

0:16.4

ever taught how to create direction in a relationship. And I think about myself in the past, I didn't

0:22.2

want to create direction. You know, I had like a lot of, of like boy energy, a lot of teenage energy,

0:27.7

where I was unpredictable all the time, right? A woman never really knew what she was going to get

0:33.3

from me. She never really knew what direction the relationship was going. It was very vague. It was

serious relationship with a woman in some capacity, that never worked because I wasn't stable.

1:08.4

I didn't feel stable. And I didn't feel stable to that other woman. And so she was

1:12.4

always trying to grapple, take the reins of leading and like, when are we going to move in together?

1:19.4

And when is this going to happen in our relationship? And when are we going on vacation? What is it going to

1:22.9

look like? And I would reject all of those decisions because I didn't want to create direction in the

1:29.9

relationship. And so one of the things that I think is incredibly important if you're wanting

1:35.3

to lead in your relationship is having the capacity to create direction. And what does that look like?

1:40.6

Well, first, it looks like having a vision for your relationship, right? What's the vision that

1:47.5

you have for your relationship? What do you want to do in the context of that relationship? What purpose or

1:53.6

function does that relationship serve, right? Is your relationship just something that you,
