I want you to explain to me how to evaluate an LED lights.

We get questions all the time on the dude grows show.

Is this a good light?

And there are some factors that you've taught me that I think if we know them,

then we can at least evaluate

it without doing the higher math.

Especially in an industry where there's a ton of misinformation or just false information

that people put out too.

Okay.

So how do I give me some red flags, first of all.

I'm looking at it, whether it's on Amazon or on Google, what's the biggest red flag?

If they list an equivalent wattage or like an

HPS equivalent where it says like a 3,000 watt light when in reality it's a 300 watt

light, that's a big red flag. Explain to me what that means equivalent. So 300 watt light,

I want to know how much is drawing from the wall, the power that is pulling from the wall,

right? Exactly. And what's the difference between that and equivalent? Equivalent is just who knows how they came up. They just made up a number to say like, it could equal this in an HPS. And that's not exactly true. So now they can't trust it. Well, I can trust the statistics on what it's pulling from the wall, right?

That is the only number of like a wattage for the light. It really matters. Okay. So if that power, that wattage matters, tell me what else? When I see these Chinese lights, they look so too good to be true. The price is too good to be true. Okay, first off, when I ask people why not to get one of these, they always say build quality.

And I'm like, I imagine, I know what those two words mean. What is that? Just the guy soldering the board, whether he gives a shit or not? That's part of it. But a lot of it can be in like the engineering and design of the light too, where these are, you almost have to think of them like, or they are semiconductors.
