Summary

On this episode we talk to Chris Hardin about how to choose a motorcycle peg that suits you, your bike and the type of riding you do. And Warren Milner talks about how the internet is like the wild west - where it’s difficult to know what information you get for motorcycle repair, mods or gear is valid, and what is nonsense. I get a fair number of listeners that ask how to choose the correct foot peg.

0:05.0

Now mainly this is because we have IMS products advertising their footpegs in the show

0:09.0

but it got me to thinking about how do you choose the correct foot peg in general, not just the IMS ones.

0:16.0

So I did a little research on the topic and I was surprised to find just how little information there was on choosing the correct foot peg for your ride.

0:24.6

There was many articles on footpegs out there testing this foot peg, testing that foot peg,

0:29.1

but not how to decide which peg is right for you. And one of the articles I stumbled across with choosing

0:35.9

foot pegs, it wasn't for adventure bikes. But anyway, I had a quick look at it. And then I went on and I found

0:40.6

another one with a similar title.

0:42.8

And as I went through it, I realized immediately that it's just a copy and paste, really,

0:47.9

of the previous site's information.

0:49.7

It was slightly reworded to try and make it look original but you couldn't hide the fact

0:53.5

it was the same information it was copied and spewed out again under the guise of

0:58.0

being original now this isn't unusual because many times when we're researching things in the internet we find sites that reuse some blatantly copy and paste the other sites information to try and make it appear as original.

1:11.0

There's all kinds of motivations for this, but sometimes it's by accident.

1:14.4

Someone sees something, they read it somewhere, and they just copy that information and put it out

1:18.8

as if it's their information as well, or as if it's as if it's fact. And all this got me to thinking about a guy I interviewed a while back

1:26.1

named Warren Milner. Warren spoke to me about how the internet distorts facts about motorcycles and how it's probably influenced you too by

1:35.4

circulating information that's either skewed or just plain wrong or in many cases

1:40.8

it's out of context.

1:42.9

Now this is going to run us a little long today on this show and if you heard Warren before,

1:47.4

it's well worth listening to again because there's so much great information.

1:51.2

In fact, I've had many comments about this interview in particular
