So today we're talking about how to intentionally build your sewing skills. And we're going to cover why sewing is like a tree, how to build a strong

foundation for your skills, and when to tackle those fun specialty projects that you might want to

learn.

So Haley, I'm going to start us off today with our icebreaker,

which is what was the hardest sewing skill for you to learn?

This is an easy one, and that is fabric and fabric choice.

I think this is still a place that even like the most seasoned sewers can still make missteps because there's just so many different kinds of fabrics out

there and it affects so much of your project.

It affects how it fits, how it wears, everything.

And it's like really kind of the first choice you make.

And if it's a bad one, it will totally ruin your project.

And unfortunately, I feel like you can do a lot to learn about fabric and different like qualities and it is like a lot of

trial and error I think that you have to personally go through because it also has to do with

your preferences before you really get a good sense of fabric and that like kind of intersection

of like general fabric knowledge

and personal preference. Yeah. There's a lot of variables and there's a lot of like you said,

you just kind of have to trial things and sometimes it just doesn't work the way you expected

it to work. I think one of the things that
