But today, like a lot of beginners can expect to get paid anywhere between $75 and $150

for an article of about a thousand words. And that's beginner. And that's for kind of

beginning article specifically in the personal finance space. My rate starts closer to $450 to

$500 for an article of that length. And then if you want me to

actually interview sources, it's going to cost more. So it just sort of depends on what you're doing.

It's still, to some degree, the Wild West out there. And it also depends on the niche you're in

and the kind of writing you're doing. If I'm writing a press release or marketing copy,

then I'm getting up close to a dollar per word because that's very specialized writing.

If you're doing white papers, that's technical writing. You can get paid more. I mean,

some technical writers get paid two or three dollars per word. If you're ghost writing a book.

So there's a lot in there and there's a lot of

space in there. And what you get depends on the outlet, the niche, the type of writing you're

doing your experience level and whether or not you have credentials.
