Podcast. You've got to be careful with maps. This week I've been hard at work

researching for my portal fantasy sequel work-in- progress dreambreaker

by reading the long-sense published first book in the trilogy Dreamlander

Along the way I'm learning some of the limitations of writing a sequel, namely that once that first book is

published, it's canon and you can't go tweaking little details to suit your fancy.

One comparatively big thing that has me wishing I known I was writing a series right from the start

is the map in the front of the book.

Eh, so limiting.

I wish I had made my fantasy land lale about three times the size it is on the map.

I'm also realizing that my memory for some of the

little details of the world isn't as good as I thought it is. For one thing, I

completely misremembered the name of an important neighboring kingdom which will feature prominently in the sequel.

So I'm highlighting like crazy in my Kindle and making myself a story Bible of all the little setting language and character details I'll need

in order to maintain consistency moving forward.

It's definitely going to be an interesting challenge.
