| 0:28.0 | Yesterday, I started a series teaching from Matthew chapter 14 about Peter walking on the water. |
| 0:35.0 | And I've got a teaching that I've entitled How to Become a Water Walker. |

| 0:57.0 | It's a harmony of the gospels where you have all four of the gospel writers side by side so that you can compare their accounts of the exact same story. |
| 1:08.0 | And this instance of Peter walking on the water in Matthew chapter 14 is also recorded in Mark chapter 6 and in John chapter 6. |
| 1:18.0 | And each one gives a little bit different information about this. |
| 1:23.0 | And you have to combine all of these things to get the total picture. |
| 1:27.0 | But Matthew is the only one that records Peter walking on the water. |
| 1:32.0 | I mean, this is an amazing miracle. And yet out of three gospel writers who recorded it, only one of them mentions Peter walking on the water. |
| 1:42.0 | All three of them mentioned Jesus walking on the water, but the other two accounts didn't mention Peter. |
| 1:47.0 | So I'm using Matthew's account. And yesterday I started reading in Matthew chapter 14 and in verse 22 where it says that Jesus constrained his disciples to get into the ship and to head to the other side while he sent the multitude away. |
| 2:05.0 | And yesterday all I got to was just saying that the word constrained here means that there was resistance on the disciples parts. |
| 2:14.0 | It doesn't say why they resisted, but it's probably because they could tell that a storm was brewing. |
| 2:20.0 | Many of these guys were fishermen. They'd grown up on that lake. That's where they made their living. |
| 2:25.0 | And they could tell that it was not conducive to being out on the lake in a boat in the night under those conditions. |
