As a little girl, I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, and my parents were school teachers.

And I think like most little girls, just had a dream of living a big life.

And it was something that was always inside of me.

And I think it's inside of most of us if we don't

let it get kind of stomped out of our system and, you know, put into a box of mediocrity or

predictability or responsibility, or I should say over responsibility. And yet I had these like

mixed messages of like, you can be anything you want to be was what I heard

but I also somehow picked up this like well you need to go to college and you need to get a job

and you need to be responsible and you need to like be normal was also what I heard so it was

confusing for me and then in the environment that I grew up in, I was so rewarded for being the good girl.

So I wanted to excel.

So kind of like sadly for me, I like became the ultimate good girl, which meant I became
