Summary

What an absolute delight! If I could have dinner with 5 people (dead or alive) - it would be Jesus, Princess Diana, my grandmother, Mother Teresa and Bob Goff. What about you? Are there people in the world that have shaped your mind and heart? Bob’s first book, Love Does, had a significant impact on my faith and the way I parent my kids. So, you can imagine it was PURE JOY to have this conversation today.

He sprays wisdom, inspiration and joy like confetti - so you will not be short on takeaways for this one. I loved his encouragement for us to, “GO BE YOU!” He encourages us to reconnect and rediscover how God made us. When we do that, we have less comparison with other moms. And we can settle into who we are. And then, as parents, we get to help our kids settle into who they are.

One of my favorite parts is when he talks about his role as a dad and grandfather. He encourages us to ask “What do they uniquely need that only I could give?” Let’s sit with that today and try not to overcomplicate it. What do our kids, friends and family need that only I could give?

Bob Goff. So, y'all, I'm so embarrassed to tell you this. I don't know what came over me. I always

1:01.5

blamed perimenopause, but I went to get my nails done at a new place with Ella. And she was like,

1:06.7

you're going to love this place. And then I'm not going to tell you what it is because they are fantastic. But we go to this place and the guy that was doing my nails was particularly

1:15.2

annoyed. He thought my fingers were too stiff. So he kept saying, relax, relax. And he would

1:20.4

like, pull on my fingers. And I was like, oh, okay. Like, I've been getting my nails done for 20

1:24.1

years. I don't have particularly stiff fingers unless I like caught

1:27.9

arthritis in the last week. But like, I'm like, okay, okay, sorry. So I keep talking to Ella.

1:33.2

He does it again. He hits me on top of my hand with the nail file. And at first I thought, I think

1:38.2

he's being funny. But he had a mask on. So I was like, I don't know if he's being funny.

1:41.3

But then I reached over to look at my text because my mom was flying in and he said, ma'am and got annoyed with me. So my blood is starting to boil. I'm like, is he like yanking my fingers and slapping me on the hand? So Ella knows like she's about to blow. And so she looks and goes, mom, don't, don't. And so he kept doing it probably 10 more times, was yanking on my fingers, probably two more

times hit me on the hand with the thing. And I was like, okay, okay, I'm trying. Like I literally

2:05.9

have never spent so much time focusing on having relaxed fingers in my life. So then at that point,
