I'm Melissa Kirsch, editor-in-chief of LifeHacker. And I'm Alice Bradley, deputy editor of

Lifehacker. And today we are very excited to introduce a slightly new version of the upgrade.

For our inaugural episode of our new format, we're looking at how to be a successful creative

person. Later, we'll be speaking with author Otessa Mashfeg. Success also requires a certain amount of faith, which is a lot of it.

And we'll also be talking to writer and actor, Keiko Aguena, whom you may know as Lane from Gilmore Girls, who has a new book about creativity.

So in the old upgrade, in the old regime, which we don't like to talk about because it's in the rearview mirror now.

In the past, we mostly had a long interview.

We decided we wanted to mix it up.

So this new version of the upgrade has lots of different segments as opposed to one long interview like we were doing before.

I'm going to tease the names of some of our new segments so that the audience can get psyched.

So we've got a segment called Do I Have to?

We've got a segment called Tech Etiquette? We've got a segment called tech etiquette. We've got Taste of Your Own Medicine, ripped from the archives. No one knows

what these are, but they know they sound super exciting. Get ready. What's your favorite new segment

that we're doing? My favorite segment so far is quiz show. Explain to the audience what that is.

Well, this is a segment in which Melissa quizzes me on questions related to the theme of the podcast.
