So this is affecting so many of us, people we know, relatives, community members, family, friends, and strangers we just feel a ton of compassion for.

I don't know, actually.

I mean, I'm answering the first part of your question. How are you?

I truly don't know. I was in New York City, actually, when the fires broke out. So it was very

surreal and strange to have this disaster happening far away. You're not near your children.

I might have been accused at some point my life of being a control freak. You know, I'm used to being in control of situations, pretty good in a crisis. And there I was on the other side of the country.

That's part one of that. I've never experienced that. When bad things have happened, it's always

been right there at the tip of my fingers, you know? Right. It's hard to be away. It's really

hard to be away, and it's hard to check in with kids and not scare them.

And it's, you know, it's just hard for a million reasons. So I earlyed up my flight, got on a
