Sadly I'm not going to the opening ceremonies because I'm in Marseille, you know, the soccer

teams, the men for the USA and the women are both playing most of their games in the south of France

So while the opening ceremony is going on in Paris on the San River, I'm down here in Marseille

Watching the US play France last night in men's and tonight the US women taking on Zambia.

We'll get to that later, but Marseille is a beautiful beach town.

What actually are you going to do? How are you going to take in the festivities with LeBron and

Cocoa Golf,

I have to say one of the secrets of covering the Olympics

as a journalist is understanding

that the opening ceremony is actually one of the only times you can get a reservation at a good

restaurant in the country where the Olympics are being played.

So to be honest with you, since I'm not covering the opening ceremony, on Friday night I'm probably

going to be trying to eat at one of the best restaurants in Marseille.
