The assault on our democratic rights within the United States is growing, and after overturning

Roe, the right wing of the U.S. ruling class, using the Supreme Court and other undemocratic

institutions, will seek to eviscerate or end other hard-fought economic, social, and political

rights that have been achieved in past decades. This will be an epic struggle.

We need a new system. We need a new society. We need to demand that which may have sounded

impossible even a few weeks ago, but is not only realizable, but an imperative necessity.

Brian, you've been talking and writing about the U.S. domestic political situation in a series

of presentations recently, and they've been based on a new piece you wrote called the counter-revolutionary

assault on democratic rights and democracy. We started talking about this last week, and just for our

listeners to know, this document will be available for the public soon. And this document is based on a

speech that you made to the

Fifth Party Congress of the Party for Socialism and Liberation. I want to start today with a

section of the document. It's a really important analysis. I'm going to read from the document

and ask you about it. So it starts, quote, the right wing of the capitalists is highly organized.

It's well funded from corporate America.

It has a large network of think tanks and political operatives. It's been systemically organizing
