You've joined us during our Easter series, and we're so glad you're here as Rick continues to share the six major benefits that the resurrection of Christ brings to people who choose to follow him.

And now here's the final part of a message called

How the Resurrection changed everything.

Now, there's a third benefit of the resurrection, and it's this.

I get God's spirit in me.

I get God's spirit inside me.

And this is a benefit of the resurrection. Now the night before Jesus goes to the cross,

he brings his inner circle together. And he says, guys, I'm going to let him arrest me. I'm going to

let him kill me on the cross. Three days later, I'm going to come back to life. They didn't

believe it. And then I'm going to come back to life they didn't believe it and then I'm going to go back

to heaven after 40 days but I'm going to send my spirit to be with you and to be in you

and later after the resurrection during that 40 day period when he's hanging around after coming back to life,

he tells them, don't you dare try to do anything until I send my Holy Spirit? Because my

spirit is going to empower you to do what I want you to do. Jesus said it like this.

There in Acts chapter 1, verse 8, when the Holy Spirit has come

upon you, you will receive power and you will tell people everywhere about me. And boy,

did they ever. In Jerusalem, throughout Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Now the third reason Christians are so contagious, they weren't living on their own power anymore.

They were empowered by God's spirit.

There was a 40-day period he was here.

Ten days after that, when he went back to heaven, he sends his spirit on what's called the day of Pentecost.
