She was jealous of it and stared with envy at the lovely tail the rabbit had.

She wanted a tail more than anything.

The rabbit was always quite careless, but he usually slept with his tail hanging straight back behind him.

Anyone could have stepped on it.

One day, while the rabbit slept,

Mistress Bus came along carrying a magic wand.

And with one tap on Mr Rabbit, she said,

Make his tail mine.

And so it was.

Mr. Rabbit's tail was gone, and there it was, on Mistress Bus.

She was overjoyed.

And how good it did look on her.

She turned in circles, admiring herself.
