So you've probably been hearing about the pitch clock, how Major League Baseball is

experimenting with the pitch clock throughout all the minor leagues to try and speed up the

pace of play and reduce game times throughout the minor leagues with the goal of having a pitch clock in the major

leagues as soon as next season that is possible and in fact i feel like there's a very good chance

it's going to happen well the results in the minor league so far have been immediate and significant, where average game

times have been reduced by 20 minutes a game. What were normally three-hour games are now

an average of two hours and 40 minutes, and some games significantly less than that.

So after the White Sox and Guardians had another game canceled on Tuesday because of bad weather,

I got on my computer.

And I watched the Charlotte Knights play against the Nashville Sounds to see what the game looked like with a pitch clock.

And although the Knights lost the game seven and nothing, I felt like I was watching baseball from a bygone era.

Like the 1980s, there was that much pace, that much rhythm and more.

And in essence, less in terms of time.

So on the podcast, I'm going to talk about what I saw, as well as what I'm hearing about what hitters and pitchers think about the pitch clock.

And the knights have also been experimenting with a computerized umpire that is calling balls and strikes

for home games. That's been interesting. So on the podcast, how the pitch clock is going to

change baseball for the better. It's coming your way.
