We have a very provocative show today our first guest will be former undercover FBI agent Mike German who has just come out with a book entitled

Disrupt, Discredits, and Divide of the new FBI damages democracy and personally I think we find ourselves in an awkward moment in history

with regard to our view of the FBI.

In the Trump era, we find so-called liberal commentators who might have been severe critics of a law

enforcement institution like the FBI during say the McCarthy or civil rights era

coming to the defense of the FBI and the CIA and the NSA for that matter.

But Mr. German's book tells the story of how the FBI transformed itself

after the 9-11 attacks from a law enforcement agency into the most secretive domestic intelligence agency the country has ever seen.

democracy, David. A 16-year veteran of federal law enforcement, Mike German served as a special agent with the FBI, where he specialized

in domestic terrorism and covert operations.

Mr. German is also a fellow with the Brennan Center for

Justice's Liberty and National Security Program which seeks to ensure that our

government respects human rights and fundamental freedoms in conducting the fight against terrorism.
