Before we get started with today's show I just want to say that our thoughts and all of our prayers go out to Derek Lively and his family Kathy Dryisdell his mother passed away

She was dealing with the battle with cancer and she was a huge massive figure that loomed large obviously in Derek Lively's life.

She lived with him when he was living here in Dallas and that was a big deal that they were

together.

They fought together after Derek Lively's father passed

away and those two were you know you could always see her around the arena she was

just always around and she was there with Derek Lively and one of my favorite things

that I'll always remember about about Derek Lively. And one of my favorite things that I'll always remember

about Derek Lively's mom, Kathy Drysdale,

was that, you know, Derek Lively got asked a question

about his mom and he mentioned his mom.

And so then I was sitting in the press conference

and his mom was sitting right behind me and I knew she was and I looked up at Derek Lively and I said I said hey he mentioned that his mom gives him notes after games.

And I said hey did your mom give you any notes after last game that led to you having such a great game this time?

And he was like, oh yeah, yeah, absolutely. She told me I got to keep moving my feet, got to keep doing this and this and this.

She was obviously a great college college player and I turned around

and I looked at her and she just nodded like yep it's exactly that's exactly what I

told him and man she's just such a big influential figure and you know our thoughts and prayers go out to Derek Lively and his family.
