Hello super great kids and how are you?

I'm very happy because I just got back from a little holiday sailing around the Greek

island of Corfu. It's very pretty. The sea is turquoise and the surrounding hills are green. And while I was

sailing I saw a flock of beautiful pink birds called flamingos which were flying low across the sea.

The collective noun for flamingos I've just learned is a flamboyance of flomingos.

Flamboyant means something which is showy or glamorous,

and those birds certainly stood out

with their pink feathers against the very blue sea.

And today we have a story about another bird.

It's a Maori how and why legend which explains how the kiwi became the national

bird of New Zealand and it's told by storyteller Emmibidwa. Now, just before we hear that story, can you see how many

birds you can name while we have a quick word with the grown-ups.

Here's two to start you off, a Robin and a blackbird.
