And I know how people navigate this moment really depends on who they are and where they are in life.

For people who are close to retirement, for the 70 million Americans who invest in a 401k, what should they be doing or not doing in this moment?

I hate to say this because the inclination is to do it, but don't look. Just don't. I have not looked at my portfolio since the Trump administration announced these tariffs because the market started to slide then.

When you look at the actual numbers, the natural tendency is for you to panic.

And you can panic and scream, but don't act on that.

And that's one thing.

And then when things calm down, if they ever in the short term,

you might need to revisit. Perhaps you have too much risk in your portfolio. But for many

seniors, they're going to have 10, 15, 20, even 30 years left in their retirement. And so you

have to keep your eye on that, that your portfolio still needs

to have growth in it so that you can buy the things that you need in your retirement years.

What about for folks who've been weighing a big purchase, a house or a car, they've been watching
