I started listening to EO Fire one year ago during the goals episodes and I was instantly hooked. I found a renewed sense of inspiration and a fuel every day on my drive to and from my business.

1:23.0

I jumped on Kickstarter grabbed a freedom journal and I haven't looked back since the fact that I'm a guest on EO Fire just one year later as testament to how powerful this journal can be.

1:33.0

I owe so much to you and to all of Fire Nation for all the inspiration that you guys have given me along the way. Hopefully what I create can help create ripples to pay it forward.

1:43.0

Ripple effect something that I'm passionate about fire nation and you know quick side notes kind of a little off topic here, but the reason I made that comment about you know I was that person that bought it tax on the school bus because I think it's important to look at both sides of the equation there are people like Jason who have literally been.

1:59.0

Entrepreneurs from day one I wasn't an entrepreneur personally until I was 32 years old like I just wasn't that just wasn't in my makeup and until I made that shift so you don't have to be born with it can be something that you turn on later in life so whatever side of the spectrum you're on either that born entrepreneur or the desire of being an entrepreneur you can make it and you can crush this now Jason what would you say your area of expertise is and kind of give us like a value bomber to in this area in this specialty that you have.

2:28.0

Yeah absolutely my field my area of expertise is leadership and I have two value bombs ready for you today value bomb number one is communication communication communication the number one mistake almost every leader makes.

2:42.0

Is that we either under communicate or we're not specific enough be it in direction goal setting or simply setting clear expectations the most overlook part of communication is that we also need to give constant feedback the model that I've tried to instill in our

2:57.0

teams at all of our restaurants is if you see it say it if you see it say it fire nation I mean where the way do you want to live and I kind of want to add on to that personally a hundred percent responsibility like if you see it and you don't say it like you are not being 100% responsible for your business for your life it just is a quality a trait a skill that you as an entrepreneur have to have so.

3:21.0

Jason kind of walk us through right now what your original goal for the freedom journal was and then kind of you know layout how you crushed that goal now of course I mean I'm looking at your intro right now I mean open your third restaurant started leadership block read an online business I mean you accomplished a lot my friends walk us through that yeah so my initial goal for the freedom journal was one thing it was to get organized I wanted to create better daily habits and find a way to kind of organizing can indicate all the leadership ideas and content that I have rolling through.

3:50.0

My head all the time and once I started following the process I decided to actually use the freedom journal and the way the plan is laid out to help me open up my third callers restaurant so I've accomplished so much this year I'll quick listed out in order you know I started my leadership log to get all the content out of my head into inspire my leadership teams I created a short ebook 11 steps to building a better team culture I created a 90 day new higher team member success workbook for all of our new team members at our restaurants I became a volunteer instructor.

4:20.0

To help improve my public speaking with the young entrepreneur's academy which is a group that helps teach teams how to become better entrepreneurs I joined Facebook and Twitter to build my audience and build my credibility I launched an online business called culture cards which are small business card size thank you notes based on five serve core values and I built my first website as well for the business and I learned a ton about e-commerce and amazing part of all this is I did it while I was opening my third callers restaurant which just opened on to start a business.

4:50.0

Number fifth here in Mesa Arizona and what I love about that is you actually posted the picture in our private Facebook group for the freedom journal of that store so many people are just like oh my god like look at like how big of an accomplishment Jason was able to do I think it was really helpful to set other people's goals even higher like Jason uses to open an entire restaurant I mean look at this this is really cool stuff so what would you say the freedom journal played as a role benefiting you in accomplishing all these massive goals you know for me really it just kind of

5:20.0

laid out the plan a game in the constant accountability it just it was the perfect partner along the way I couldn't have asked for a better coach mentor partner then having the freedom journal to back me up every day I love that and so true for nation because listen to air is human and it's great to have human accountability partners I have them and you should do but the freedom journals great as a combination because it is a accountability partner that will not let you fail it is there on your desk on your night

5:50.0

stand it is just basically screaming at you saying why are you not opening and using me your goal is a mere 100 days away now on that no Jason you know as we're kind of moving into the next phase of this interview we're going to be talking more about the three strengths that I've been able to develop over the last four years

6:08.0

against strengths that I did not have when I launched EO fire I was good you know at discipline I was not very productive I wasn't super focused but but I honed in on these three strengths I knew if I did develop them that they would just allow my business to take off and in fact those are now the three skills that I have that I know are the reason why I built EO fire into a multi million dollar a year business productivity discipline and focus so let's start at number one here how do you personally define productivity to me
