So this shift from just in case to just in time is basically the idea that whereas in the past the emphasis was you're going to take a whole bunch of time studying things at the beginning of your career,

essentially in case you need it, which is problematic today for a number of reasons.

It's always been problematic because all the data shows that we tend not to remember much of it anyway.

And it's even more problematic because of the rate of change in the professional world.

Larry Summers, the former Dean of Harvard, is on record saying that everything you learn

So the idea of spending years studying things

and B, you're not even going to remember it by the time you need it, that doesn't make sense.

And so what we're seeing is a transition of a lot less just in case education, and that's specifically in those contexts of foundational and last mile and a lot more actually education over a lifetime in that continuing education bucket where it's you know not you know taking a year or two years or four

years out of life to learn but rather you know it could be weeks or it could be

months and it's often concurrent with the rest of what's happening in life as you level up in the
