brilliant, theologically heavy, but humorous and accessible book called How the Bible

actually works. This talk may be heady for some, but I promise you, if you've

ever read a verse in the Bible and been challenged, even gotten upset or mad at God, or

felt confronted by something you never expected, like racism, sexism, the violence of God,
