0:19.0	So she can greet students in their native tongues as they arrive every morning at one of the most diverse schools in the UK.

0:34.0	1400 kids between the ages of 11 and 18 years old attend Alpertone in one of the poorest areas of the UK.
0:42.0	Being a kid here is not easy.
0:45.0	There's high levels of poverty.
0:47.0	We have many families who are sharing houses, we've got gang affiliated issues all around us.
0:55.0	So our children have got very, very, very tough lives.
0:59.0	Most of the students get free meals at school.
1:02.0	And Andrea says that sometimes she even has to kick some of the kids out when the school doors finally close at 6.30pm,
1:09.0	because they'd rather be there than at home or on the streets.
1:13.0	And yet, despite all these challenges, this school is ranked in the top 4% of all schools in the UK.
