The subject of our investigation is the case against Karen Reed, this time playing out in civil court.

As the family of John O'Keefe has turned their attention now to a different arena.

Here's the story.

She celebrated the victory, but another battle looms ahead for Karen Reid.

She and her attorneys were emotional after her second trial when a jury acquitted her

in the death of her boyfriend Boston police officer John O'Keefe, culminating a years-long

public saga that sparked support across the nation for an accused killer. Free car and read!

The prosecution presented mountains of evidence trying to prove that Reid drunkenly backed her SUV

into O'Keefe and killed him outside of a party in 2022.

We saw statements from first responders, surveillance images, intricate, tail-late forensic analysis,

hotly contested GPS data, and statements from the defendant herself.

The defense raised questions about all of it, and poked holes in the investigation, questioning the actions

of investigators and raising alternate theories of what caused John O'Keefe's tragic death.

Now O'Keefe's family has brought the case back into a Massachusetts courtroom filing

a civil lawsuit against Karen Reid and the two bars where she drank with John O'Keefe earlier that night.
