And today, we try to orient ourselves as to what are the Lakers now after this bombshell of a trade?

Where are they going?

We are recording this before the Lukudanchich introductory press conference this morning. And so by the time this is out,

that will have already happened. We don't have any knowledge over what's said as we have

this discussion. We'll talk about that tomorrow. But this is more big picture talk, Dee.

And so much of the discussion about the Lakers

present and future has been filled with a sense of urgency. LeBron is 40. You've got them both

healthy. This is your last best chance. In the words of the great Zach de la Rocha, you can't

waste a day when the night brings a hearse. You got to do it now because the next championship is nowhere in sight.

Overnight, that is no longer true.
