Summary

Today, Adam discusses the news that 3.8 million smart meters in Great Britain are not working properly.

BBC Breakfast Business presenter Nina Warhurst and CEO of Energy UK Emma Pinchbeck join Adam to talk about the customers who’ve received wrong readings, how suppliers should respond and how far the UK’s energy infrastructure is from being truly ‘smart’.

And International Editor Jeremy Bowen is in Jerusalem and speaks to Adam about diplomatic relations between the US and Israel, following the US abstaining from the UN Security Council ceasefire vote, and how this will affect Qatari negotiations between Israel and Hamas.

0:56.4	then thought, I'll pop out for a quick run,
0:58.1	and then had another shower.
0:59.3	And I'm just thinking, if I'd been more efficient
1:02.4	and just gone for a run straight away could I've saved that
1:05.0	second shower and saved like 15p and then it's also making me think if it was a really
1:09.2	cold day how much would my electric radiators be costing?
1:13.3	But it's also making me think,
1:14.5	does this mean I can take part in those trials
1:17.2	where you get paid to not use electricity at peak times?
1:20.6	So many questions.
1:21.8	And some big questions about smart Metals themselves which we will discuss on this episode of newscast
