Summary

Why does Jesus tell a story that seems to praise dishonesty? What is he actually trying to teach about money? And how should we think about what we’ve been given? In today’s episode, Jensen shares how Luke 16:1–15 reveals that money isn’t meant to be our master, but a tool we can use wisely and generously for God’s kingdom. Read the Bible with us in 2026! I had no idea what Jesus was trying to say. And for a minute there,

Jesus was teaching something immoral, which can't be right. And it

isn't. Because the parables of Jesus aren't stories that show us how to live a moral life. There's

1:03.0

stories that reveal truths about the kind of kingdom that Jesus came to bring, a kingdom that is

radically different than the world.

When I realized the radical call that Jesus was making in this passage, I didn't love what

Jesus did have to say.

1:22.2

Not because I thought he was saying something immoral, but because the ways of his kingdom

challenge me and the way that I want

to live my life. And if you're anything like me, and if you're willing to be honest with yourself

today, then my guess is that you just might find yourself challenged by the words of Jesus as well.

Because today, Jesus is going to make some radical claims about something everyone
