All right, today I've got Avery Carl on Avery is the founder of the short term shop, right?

0:06.8

Right. And you also wrote a book with bigger pockets called short term rental long term wealth.

0:14.1

That's been very successful. And I've actually had some of my students mention you before too

0:20.3

as somebody that we need to get on the show, get in our events as just the short term rental expert.

0:26.7

So here you're here. I'm here, here, right? You made it. Thanks for

0:29.9

having me. Yeah. So tell me a little bit about who you are for those who don't know you.

0:36.0

Yeah. So my name is Avery Carl. I'm a real estate investor. I have 220 doors. I'm also a real estate

agent or a team leader now. We have a team with any exp, I can't call it a brokerage, but

0:50.4

or exp will get mad at me. But my team is short term shop, sells short term rentals, buys and sells

1:12.2

pay a property manager that 25 to 40% and they can really kind of scale and bootstrap so that they

1:18.7

can scale more quickly. So I personally started out working in the music business as a marketing manager.

1:25.5

I was making $37,000 a year and just really unhappy with that. And we kind of backed into real estate

1:32.4

investing, which we can get into later if you want. But what's worked for me is I've we've gone

1:39.8

from zero to 220 doors over the course of about five and a half years. And we were able to do that

1:45.7

because five of our first six investments were short term rentals and they cash flow so much

1:51.0

heavier than traditional long term rentals that we were able to scale our portfolio much more quickly

1:55.8

than if we had just started with traditional single family long term. So that's kind of like my strategy

2:01.0

and what we teach our clients and what we teach in our education. So that's a little bit about me.

2:07.3

Yeah, there's a lot to unpack there. So I mean, for one, going from zero to over 200 doors and we're
