Hey, good morning. I'm Patricia Murphy. It's Monday. This is Seattle now. Arts organizations in Seattle

rely on international artists to show their work in the U.S., but it's becoming increasingly

difficult for artists to get the required permissions to enter the country. In a minute,

arts reporter Marcy Silman will tell us what it means for arts organizations

and artists here in Seattle.

But first, let's get you caught up.

An update on a story we've told you about last month, the Washington Talking Book and Braille

Library will be closed to the public starting

tomorrow due to a lack of state funding. The library provides key services to people who can't

read standard print. Beginning Tuesday, the Seattle Library Building will be open by appointment only.

You'll still be able to check out materials by phone or online, but those services will be slowed.

The Seattle City Council's Transportation Committee will meet tomorrow to take a step towards expanding the light rail to West Seattle.

The committee may vote to approve the alignment, station locations, and maintenance-based location of the extension

before passing it on to the full council.

The extension includes four new stops between Soto and West Seattle's Alaska Junction neighborhood.
