Do you feel like you want to pray, but just get distracted in every possible way?

Well, friend, you are not alone.

A recent survey from Crossway revealed that the number one obstacle to a thriving prayer life,

it's distraction.

I mean, you've experienced this too, haven't you?

We start praying, but before long we're thinking about our grocery shopping list,

the laundry that needs switched into the dryer, that friend whose birthday is coming up,

basically everything but our conversation with God. And not only that, but we also feel like we don't quite know what to say.

Our prayer time can easily become a wish list that we present to God like we would to a genie.

And then we feel bad about it because we know that's not how we should

approach prayer, but we don't know how else to pray. And then we feel too busy to figure it out.

And so we stop praying all together. Listen, I get it. I'm Asherita Chuchu, and yes, I'm a Bible

teacher and a published author and a national speaker, and I'm also a wife

and a mom. But what's most relevant to this conversation is that I'm a follower of Jesus who still

sometimes struggles with my prayer life. I still have days when my mind wanders in prayer. And I still feel

resistance some days when I sit down to read my Bible.

I haven't arrived. I'm still on this journey just like you. And together, I want us to find joy in

Jesus through creative spiritual disciplines. That's why I created this podcast. A few years ago,
