Ivan is a bus.

And an iconic bus in Antarctica.

It transports researchers and workers from the airfields to the research stations.

It's a great story.

And we figured, you know, with the insanely hot summer weather going on, it would be nice to hear

some more stories from cold places. So we have another Antarctic story for you today.

We're going to have Alega Rosenberg back on the show. She is our Antarctica super fan at Atlas Obscira.

And a while back, she wrote this great piece about a certain sliver of polar explorer life.

Basically, how the folks who went and explored the Arctic and the Antarctic entertained themselves.

And one of the ways they did this, one of the ways

they kept from going crazy was by writing these little newspapers and periodicals.

It is this fascinating look into the minds of these people who went on these dangerous expeditions

and what they did for fun. Allegra wrote a piece for the site,
