As you know, Nate is a political analyst,

but before he was a political analyst,

he was a longtime poker player, but what he really is,

he's a data guy.

And he's obviously, he has the silver bulletin sub stack newsletter it's

terrific I'm not a big fan of the of the aggregating polling.

He and I have discussed that in the past.

He of course was the founder of 538.

But how he examines data and how he uses data,

I think is fascinating and I think you'll enjoy this conversation

but here's where this interview come from comes from the New York Public Library

was doing an event featuring Nate Silver's new book on the edge, The Art of Risking Everything.

They asked me if I would do a Q&A with him about the book and about the election.

And so we did this the second week of October just so you

have some timing of when it was and look it's mostly about his book.

that when people interview authors, I read the book

and then interview the author.
