Oh hello there plant friend and welcome to episode 105 of

Blue Hango Radio.

Plant friends, well hello, as per usual, I hope you've been having wonderfully

planty weeks and I am so excited to bring this episode to you to help us better understand how plants

communicate with each other.

It's really interesting and three years into this podcast I'm realizing I've grown a lot as a plant parent, and I am curious about a lot of things that I wasn't necessarily curious about when I had started out my plant parenthood journey.

And after reading a lot of your feedback on the Bloom and Grow

listener survey which is in the show notes if you still haven't taken it, it's

interesting to know that the majority of this community actually identifies as

intermediate plant parents.

And I know you guys are growing alongside me,

which is really cool.

So this is one of those episodes that it's not general plant care.

It's a little more sciencey, a little nerdier,

what I like to call a zoom out episode where we're not just

talking about how to care for a bagonia but we're trying to better understand the

basis of how plants live and thrive and survive and in this case communicate the concept of

VOCs or volatile organic compounds is talked about a lot in the house plan community because plants

clean the air and technically

neutralize these VOCs that are in the air but I feel like we all talk about
