Welcome back my friends. I'm so thankful you've joined me for the morning mindset today and I wonder if you took the time over the weekend to listen to the morning mindset. The reason I ask is because we covered

some concepts back there in those last few episodes about the Holy Spirit and his role in our lives

and how we actually hear his voice more clearly

that I think we all need to hear.

We all need to understand.

Now I don't have infallible insight into these things,

but I do believe the Lord has shown me over the long course of a life

lived in pursuit of him, that there are some things we have gotten wrong in our Christian lives

about the Holy Spirit and there are some things that we can understand more

clearly so if you haven't listened to those please go back you're going to be

blessed by the truth of God's word. I'm convinced of that.

Now today we are continuing on in the Gospel of John chapter 14 and Jesus is speaking to his disciples about the condition they are going to be in very shortly

when he leaves the earth.

He's going to be crucified, he's going to be gone from them, and they are going to be in a great state of trouble and he speaks directly to it beginning in verse 27 of John 14.

He says, peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let

not your hearts be troubled. Neither let them be afraid.

Now let's stop for a moment and unpack what Jesus is saying here because it sounds a little counterintuitive when you first hear it.

You see, Jesus has just told them I'm about to go be hung on a cross and be killed and

put in the grave.

And he says, yet, I'm leaving peace with you. Now try and put yourself

into the disciple sandals for a moment. How peaceful would you feel in the moment if your teacher, the one you've fallen in love with

and have given your whole life to follow, is telling you he's about to be killed in a brutal way
