Rewarding someone to stay sober might sound counterintuitive, but in fact, it's a highly

effective form of treatment that focuses on positive reinforcement.

The VA has been using it successfully for the last decade. Finding

effective drug treatments is critical right now. Since 2008, meth overdoses have increased by 500% in

San Francisco. Governor Gavin Newsom could sign a bill that would allow Medi-Cal to support an

incentive drug treatment program statewide.

The legislation had near unanimous support in both the Senate and the Assembly.
