We're coming up on the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord. It's going to be this

Saturday. And I want to take some time to talk about this. And I want you guys to think about it.

There are a lot of lessons that we can learn from it. It's not just pivotal, important history

of the United States and how it came to be. There's also a number

of lessons across a whole wide range of different aspects that we can learn from, things about

community organization, things about combat, things about statecraft, things about intelligence

that I want to dig into.

So welcome back to another T-Rex talk.

This one is going to be not an interview.

This one is sort of part book review. We'll be looking at the book.

I've recommended this book a number of times.

Paul Revere's Ride by David Hackett Fisher that describes not just the battle, but a lot of

stuff leading up to it and some of the aftermath, as well as a play-by-play of what actually happened.

And the book centers very largely around Paul Revere,

because Paul Revere is a much more major player in the battle and everything surrounding it than

you might think. If you're, like most people, you know the poem that talks about the midnight ride

of Paul Revere. It's an important piece of history, not the poem,

the ride. The poem is pretty historically inaccurate, but Paul Revere had a very important

part to play in preparing people for the battle, and it wasn't just on the night of April 18th.

It was for weeks and months and years before.

And that's one of the things we're going to be getting into. We're also going to be talking about

what the battle meant. And we're also going to be talking about some of the lessons that we can
