Probably the thing that most house plant growers mess up the most, especially when you are beginning and you really don't have a good sense for how much water plants need of course is watering your house plants. We have Crystal Durand back on the show

plants with Crystal all over the internet. You've done a lot of guides and I've found myself kind of

finding you and my feed a little bit more often these days.

Talking about all sorts of different types of house plant stuff, but specifically some of this

care and it seems like where everyone messes up the most besides maybe where they put the plant in the first

place is the watering. Right. Yeah I think that watering can feel scary too many and they assume that if I give too much water

that I'm going to kill my plant and so what that means is you're watering too frequently versus the amount of water that you're actually

providing to the plant. Also deciding the environment that it's in so if you have it in what is considered a low light

setting your soil medium is going to dry out not very quickly so if you've

completely saturated your plant, then your chances of rotting your plant is going to increase as well.

So you have to really see where, what kind of lighting are you providing it and then you can determine how much

water to provide.

Yeah, yeah, what would you say, let's say the same plants in a highlight versus low light situation,

everything else is the exact same, soil, medium, amount, plant pot type, all that kind of stuff.

How much more often do you think you'd have to water the highlight one versus the low?

Oh, I would say at least one time a week to every other week depending on the size of it.

What will you say it's the same? So I would say maybe one. to every other week depending on the size of it.

And what you said it's the same.

So I would say maybe one time a week compared to once every other week.

So basically twice as much.
