with todd urs and and aaron mackintyre i am steve dase and today is a very important conversation, if I do say so myself.

But we can't take credit for it.

You know, we did a series of these special editions back in 2022 with long-form conversations

about deep think pieces about the current zeitgeist, where we were as a culture as a people.

And we're going to bring that back, at least for one special edition this year, for this think

piece. And gentlemen, before we get to it here, and as we did with these in 22 22 and 23 I'm just going to go through the piece

we'll stop and pause and comment as we go along and provide some exposition and context as we

go along and then summarize it and analyze it in total here at the final segment of the show

but when I when I read through this piece,

the thing that came to my mind,

the first time I read it,

and now I've had a chance to read this thing three times.

You know, there has been terms like establishment

or swamp or iterations of this

in terms of what's the actual permanent shadow government,

the bureaucratic state, the administrative state. We know it in our day and age as the deep

state, right? But this has really been bandied about and discussed since President Eisenhower's

farewell address, where he referenced the military industrial complex

and warned about the birth of a permanent expert class that will dictate how we are to live.

In other words, he prophetically called the exact era that we are living in as we speak.

But if we wanted to know, at least I think this, maybe you guys think differently, but if we wanted
