1:02.8	has always been intriguing. During the previous administration, when former President Trump
1:09.1	was threatening nuclear war, in essence, with the leader of North Korea,
1:13.3	I was shocked because that was so unpresidential, meaning every president, you know, before him was like
1:22.0	there was a tacit understanding. I mean, listen to Kennedy's speeches talking about the horrors of nuclear war.
1:32.0	So to hear President Trump talking about this as if it with a sort of cavalier attitude was shocking
1:38.7	to me as it was to a lot of people. And then I began to think about this idea that many of my sources had said to me in the
1:47.4	course of reporting the previous six books, whether it was Billy Wall or Dr. Bud Weilon.
1:53.2	Annie, I dedicated my life to preventing nuclear World War III. And then I began thinking,
2:00.7	what if that prevention fails?
2:03.9	What if deterrence fails?
2:05.3	What does that look like?
2:07.1	And then it just became a thought experiment of asking people in the national security apparatus, people that I've spent years developing as sources, as people who would talk to me,
