We live in a world where people are so easily offended. People in a moment can take such offense to something and get blown off

course. I'm reminded of the Psalm that says, great peace have they which love thy law and nothing

shall offend them. I think there's something wonderful about being rooted in God and God's word

that anchors you, keeps you from drifting. We've come in our journey with Jesus to

Mark chapter number 14. And we're in verse number 26 where the Bible says, and when they had

sung in hymn, they went out into the Mount of Olives. I still am just overwhelmed with this

picture of Jesus singing on the night of his arrest, on the night of his betrayal, on the night that

all will deny him and forsake him. He's singing? I'm reminded of the phrase in Hebrews that says,

for the joy that was set before him, he endured the cross. The cross was not enjoyable,

but there was joy on the other side.

And that joy of the Lord was his strength through this great trial of his life. He's singing

on his saddest night. Verse 27 says, and Jesus saith unto them, all ye shall be offended because of me

this night. For it is written, I will smite the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered.

But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

But Peter said unto him, although all shall be offended, yet will not I.

And Jesus saith unto him, verily I say unto thee, that this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice,

thou shalt deny me thrice. But he spake the more vehemently. If I should die with thee,
