You're running late to a crucial appointment, but somehow you get all green lights on your way.

So you make it to your appointment on time it's a miracle you're

diagnosed with a health concern it's going to require an expensive procedure not covered by your

insurance you don't have the money to pay it and the very next day your boss gives you a

surprise bonus for nearly the exact amount that you needed your prayer was answered in the middle

of your day you start thinking of somebody

that you care about. Then five minutes later, the phone rings and on the other end is them. It must

have been divine intervention. The odds in each of these cases are astounding, so much so that they will

likely be considered miracles, or God-inspired. Pew Research showed that a vast majority of Americans,

nearly 80 percent, believe in miracles. The Miriam Dictionary defines miracle as an extremely

outstanding or unusual event thing or accomplishment. Basically, an amazing piece of luck, which we don't understand.

But as Stanford professor, Scott Sagan said,

things that never happened before happen all the time.

John Littlewood was a mathematician who sought to debunk the idea of

miracles as being nothing more than simple statistics.

Littlewood's laws of miracles states that in the course of any normal person's life,

miracles happen at the rate of roughly one per month.
