Because ignorance isn't simply the opposite of

knowledge. It's part of what it means to be human. Just about every game I can

think of involves ignorance. There's no adventure without ignorance. There's no there's no narrative.

January 1981, During one of his first cabinet meetings is US President, Ronald Reagan hands

out copies of a new book. It's called Mandate for Leadership, Policy Management in a Conservative administration.

It's published by a non-profit public policy group called The Heritage Foundation.

By the end of President Reagan's first year, around 60% of the book's 2,000

action points are in place or in progress.

More than 40 years later, US voters are months away from choosing their next president,

and the ninth edition of Mandate for Leadership is a key part of a wider heritage foundation Plan called Project 2025.

Some see it as an essential recipe for political success.

Others view it as deeply unpalatable and dangerous.

This week we're asking how might Project 2025 shape the future of the US.

Part 1, Presidents and Precedents. The Heritage Foundation is a large and very influential think tank part of the conservative landscape in America that has hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue and historically it's played an

influential role in shaping Republican presidents.
