The Week in Bible Prophecy, a Prophecy Watchers podcast.

0:08.0

So, J.B., here we are, again, in our new podcast. So I appreciate your time, and we've done some TV

0:13.1

programs, but we're starting this new podcast, which is great, because we really feel the end is coming.

0:18.0

I mean, in the sense of all these things are converging, what you write about in your book book, we'll discuss that on another podcast. But let's talk about, let's talk about the Preach of Rapture, but specifically this idea of the partial rapture, you know, you and I discussed that, you know, Dwight Pentecost wrote about this and things to come 50 some years ago. So it's nothing new, but for those, there's many that are getting caught up into the, in the idea of,

0:39.1

hey, am I qualified? some years ago. So it's nothing new. But for those, there's many that are getting caught up

0:37.6

into the idea of, hey, am I qualified? Do what do I need to be doing in order? Am I going to do,

0:44.8

do I need to do this or think this or view this in order to make the rapture? What is required?

0:50.6

Well, first, give us a background for the partial rapture. What is it? And then let's answer.

0:54.9

Let's talk about it. Yeah, so all of the erroneous understandings of the timing of the rapture

0:59.6

suffer from the same fatal flaw, and that is a failure to understand God's plan for Israel and

1:04.6

God's plan for church. And when you miss that distinction, then you start coming up with all

1:09.1

sorts of theories about when the rapture

1:10.9

might happen. But the partial rapture view is essentially the view that the more spiritually you are,

1:16.2

the more likely you are to get raptured earlier. And so when you reach a certain level of maturity

1:21.0

and Christ-likeness, then you'll be rapture. But other people aren't quite qualified yet,

1:26.2

so they're going to take a little longer. And they get that from a variety of passages that seem to talk about watch, that do talk about watchfulness, and, you know, eagerly awaiting the return of the Lord and all that. The Ten Virgins is a big one that's used. Yeah. But so the problem with taking those that way is, first of all, they're not conditional.

1:45.3

It doesn't say, if you're watching, you will get raptured.

1:48.5

It just says those who are watching will get raptured.

1:51.0

Well, those who are not watching will get rapture too.

1:53.0

So, for example, in First Thessalonians chapter five, Paul actually explicitly sort of refutes

2:00.3

this notion of the partial rapture long before it ever became a thing.

2:04.8

Listen to what he says in 1st, Thessalonians 5.
