They were clearly on their way out the Russians, and they just decided to slaughter as many

people as they could before they left.

Isabelle Kurshudian is a foreign correspondent for the post who's been reporting from

Ukraine for the last two and a half months.

Last week, there was this brief moment of hope.

As Russian negotiators said that they would pull back from the areas around Kiev and reduce

their attacks on the city.

It hasn't exactly panned out.

But as Russian forces left this area northwest of Kiev, Ukrainians and foreign journalists

and human rights advocates have been able to come back in.

And what they found in the town of Butcher was horrifying, as you're about to hear.

So it's been discovered there is basically a mass grave from photographers and reporters

who've been allowed into the city after Russia's forces have pulled out people who were shot

while they were biking, people whose hands were tied and shot that way.

There's mass graves that have been uncovered.

Zelensky, the president of Ukraine called it genocide.

The president doesn't let such a serious action happen.

But today I will tell you the truth.

It's killing people for the sake of killing people.
