The First, the Bank of England cut interest rates this week, despite no movement by the Fed the day before.

President Trump's trade war was cited as one of the key reasons for reducing the rate of borrowing from 4.5% to 4.25%.

Now, the decision came shortly before we got official confirmation of a trade deal between Britain and the US.

So while the decision to cut rates came as, no surprise to anyone,

the direction of travel going forward is less certain.
