Hello, Lakers Nation. Welcome into the Lakers Nation.com podcast. I am Trevor Lane. Happy Monday.

0:06.8

I know. It's probably not really a happy Monday if you're still remembering Saturday

0:11.2

night's disaster of a game against the Denver Nuggets. We're going to talk a little bit about that,

0:16.1

about how does the team move on from this? Where do we go from here? Both a little bit on the trade front, of course, because I know that's everybody's knee jerk reaction is trade everybody, fire this whole thing into the sun and get rid of some of these players. We'll talk a little bit about that and how that's going to work. And we'll also talk about how does the team as presently constructed move forward. We'll take a look at the schedule ahead and we'll open up the mailbag. So lots to get to on today's show. If you're watching over on YouTube, we do have over half of our viewership. It's actually not subscribed to the Lakers Nation YouTube channel. I went in and looked at the stats. So if you're among that more than 50% of the channel that is watching this show and you are not subscribed,

You guys know we're going to keep you up to date with everything going on in the world of the Los Angeles Lakers.

1:04.5

All right, let's get into our first topic here today.

1:07.9

And that is simply the response.

1:10.2

What do the Lakers do after getting blown out?

1:12.6

And I'll tell you what was particularly disturbing.

1:14.3

This is now that that Denver game has kind of settled a little bit, like it still sucks.

1:19.2

It still, there's no question.

1:20.8

But now that it's settled a little bit, I think for me anyway, and you guys can let me know

1:25.3

in the comment section if you feel the same way.

1:27.7

But what bothered me the most is that we saw the Lakers tap out. This is the first game this

1:33.4

season under J.J. Reddick that we've seen them quit. And we can say against the Detroit Pistons,

1:39.1

say they did not show up prepared necessarily for that game. And the Pistons, given the Lakers weaknesses,

1:46.2

maybe they were particularly, and this is true of the Nuggets as well, particularly constructed

1:51.0

in a way that could damage the Lakers in terms of the athleticism they've got, particularly

1:55.6

on the wings, their ability to get the ball down the court quickly. That coincides with a major

2:00.1

weakness that the Lakers have. But still, that game felt like they were just, they didn't quite take that game seriously enough. And that, and that's frustrating. And I've had a lot of people point to that game. But this, this was something different altogether. I felt like watching the game against the Nuggets. Well, the Lakers, they tapped out.

2:15.6

They gave up. You could see it. Anthony Davis talked about it. Now, he didn't specifically say, oh, yeah, we quit. Here's the Lakers record on the season and the schedule so we can see the games they've gone through. But when we're looking at all the different games on the Lakers schedule, and they've lost games, lost to Phoenix by four in a game that,
