Because Kamala Harris' campaign is under a month old,

Democrats see the convention as a unique

opening to do more than usual to define their nominee in the minds of swing voters.

But there may be also an unappreciated opportunity here to damage Trump. A successful convention

will rattle Trump very deeply, and the big dynamic in this race has been that when

Trump fears he's losing, he does himself tremendous additional harm.

Today we're talking to veteran journalist Ronald Brownstein, who has a good piece for the Atlantic

laying out the task ahead for Harris and Chicago. We're going to work through what Harris might

be able to accomplish

and also look at the pitfalls. Great to have you back on, Ron. Hey, Greg, good to be with you again.

Ron, I'm going to start with a prediction. Harris will be able to use the convention to trigger an

epic meltdown from Trump. A really great detail in your piece is that strategists think Harris will be able

to attract a very large audience precisely because she's not as well known as nominees usually are

at this stage, so people will be curious. Now, Ron, Trump already hates Harris's crowds. But also,
