Well, I thought I was done for the day after doing media buzz,

came home, relaxed a little bit,

and found out at the same time as the rest of the world

that Jimmy Carter had died at the age of 100.

You know, it was a couple of years ago that he went into hospice care and we all assumed, along with his family, the end was near, but he hung on. I'm going to talk

about a lot of things on this podcast today. I hope you had a good weekend as we head into the new year.

But I do so want to start with Carter because that was the first national campaign as a kid that I covered.

I was working for the Bergen record in New Jersey.

I covered the New York primary.

I followed Carter's campaign.

And that was the first convention that I covered,
